About the Founder
Jake O’Brien
the founder of Peace Mutual, has always been passionate about helping people and making a positive difference. Born and raised in West Michigan as one of seven children, Jake learned early the values of hard work, family, and community. He carried those lessons into his career in education, where he spent many years as a teacher and dean, guiding students, supporting families, and leading with compassion.
Beyond the classroom, Jake coached soccer and directed musicals, experiences that strengthened his belief in teamwork, leadership, and creativity. After years in education, he realized he could bring that same personal attention and dedication to a new field — the insurance industry. That vision inspired him to create Peace Mutual, a company devoted to helping families plan ahead with confidence and compassion through affordable final expense insurance.
Jake is married to his wife, Sherre, and together they have three daughters and four grandchildren, who inspire him every day. He currently resides in Oxford, Michigan and enjoys attending Detroit sporting events, going to concerts, and volunteering with various community organizations in his hometown.
At the heart of everything Jake does is a simple belief: peace of mind comes from caring for people the right way — with honesty, respect, and heart.
